The National Down Syndrome Society is committed to protecting your privacy and confidentiality on our Web site. We provide this notice explaining our online information practices. This information is used both to help us focus our resources where they are needed by the community we serve and in planning new services and upgrades of existing ones. Occasionally, NDSS may contact individuals who have provided their individually identifiable information through the Web site in order to:

• Supply news and information. This may include Down syndrome information, the latest Down syndrome and other health news, current events, ways you can help, etc.

Donation Information

We maintain records of all contributions to NDSS. Personal information is private and confidential. Additionally, all information is stored in a secure location accessible only by authorized staff. NDSS may contact you with further communications.

In the case of memorial contributions and honor contributions, a personalized gift card is sent to a designated recipient, usually the family member of the deceased or the honoree. Therefore, we will request the name, address, city, state, zip code and telephone number for your designated gift card recipient. This information is only used for the purpose of sending the gift card.

Security

The National Down Syndrome Society goes to great lengths to protect the confidentiality and integrity of any personal information you share with us on the Web.

The Society treats personal data such as credit card numbers as critical assets that must be guarded at all times against loss and unauthorized access, online and off-line. This is accomplished through industry-standard computer security methods, encryption techniques and strict internal administrative processes that limit the number of Society employees who have access to personal information.
